Kim

Kim was a soldier in the army of the Authorities, and joined the rebel group the Insurgency. She is one of the nine survivors of the destruction of Arcis.

“What happened to Kim and Michelson?” Ash asked.

“We don’t know,” Xavier replied. “They’re not here, one way or another. They may have been executed. I do know, however, that Kim was working for the Authorities. I found her name on a data file in a computer bank in the building when I was searching for this group.”

It made sense, Ash realized. Kim had been the one who had made sure Luke died in the helicopter crash, just in case mind control was unable to make it happen. She had been the one who had locked the trapdoor in the refugee cave, and sent a signal to bring the Authorities to them. Because the Authorities already knew where the refugees were, the signal had most likely just been to tell them when to attack. Allison hadn’t been the traitor; it had been Kim, and yet Ash hadn’t seen it.
