Welcome to a New Chapter

It’s been a little while since I’ve been in touch. A lot’s happened in the last couple of months, and I’m excited to announce that I’m relaunching this newsletter—now with a new format and schedule. (Sign up to the newsletter to get these posts in your inbox every week.)

You can expect behind-the-scenes updates, exclusive previews of my latest creative projects, and recommendations of some of my favorite media. I’ll be releasing a new newsletter every week or so.

And now, to start this new chapter, here’s what I’ve been up to these last few months.

  • Last Words, a short film I released last year, won a Gold Key in the 2023 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. An excerpt was displayed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in my hometown of NYC. (You can watch the film for free.)

  • In related news, my novellas A Rogue Game and The Gemina Journals Vol. 1 both won Silver Keys.

  • Last month, I turned 18. Since then, I’ve been working on officially forming my publishing company, Winter Forest Press—I’ll be sharing more about that in future newsletters. It’s now an LLC, and I’ve been working on designing a new website that’ll be launching in the coming weeks.

  • I’ve got several new YouTube videos in the works, which I’ll be releasing on my channel soon.

  • I’ve continued writing Catalyst of Control, my upcoming science fiction novel. It’ll be the first publication of Winter Forest Press, coming this fall. (If you’re interested in reading the book early for free in exchange for an honest review, sign up here.)

Those are all the major updates I’ve got for now. Below, you’ll find my latest videos (in case you missed them), plus a new section that’ll end every newsletter—curated recommendations from yours truly.

Thanks for reading.

Recommendations

🎹 Music: This song by Nicholas Britell, from Succession’s Season 4 soundtrack (Though I’ve never watched the show, I’m a fan of all four seasons’ scores.)

📘 Book: How Not to Be Wrong by Jordan Ellenberg (I tend to have a strong dislike of math, so the fact that I’m recommending a book about it speaks volumes—but it’s a fascinating read.)

🎬 Film: Blade Runner 2049, directed by Denis Villeneuve (My favorite piece of science fiction. If you like this, you’ll like my upcoming novel Catalyst of Control.)

P.S. I recently launched my TikTok account, featuring snippets of my YouTube videos. You can follow me there for bite-sized writing and publishing tips.
