Hope is the adopted daughter of Ash Thorane.

Zach called her a free spirit. She was an orphan, one of many, but there were enough homes and families for them all. She was twelve now, and had been only four when they had adopted her. Hope had always been adventurous, and Ash couldn’t have been happier to look after her. She frequently ran off into the forest on her own, and they let her. The world was safe. It was completely different from the one they had all grown up in; no war, no soldiers, no ruling force to oppress anyone. Hope was independent, and though she loved her family, she loved escaping into the depths of nature with an almost equal passion. She knew about the past world, of course, but it was a distant one. A world left far behind.
