The Great Coatlatl was a black super giant squid that dwelled in the waters surrounding Enigma Island. Legends of the Kuautika attested that it was a protector of the island sent by the sun god Tonatiuh.

Its name comes from the Nahuatl words for serpent (coatl) and water (atl).
