The Arcis factories are a sprawling complex of run-down factories where the city's inhabitants are forced to work by the Authorities.

After several minutes, she reached a huge, looming factory. Black smoke billowed from tall, rusty smokestacks, clouding the sky and blotting out the sun. She walked through a pair of giant metal doors, which hung ajar on only a few remaining hinges.... The inside of the factory was a massive area, crammed with weathered machines and rusted contraptions. Conveyor belts wound through the entire factory, weaving between towers of crates. The roof sagged and was covered in holes, scratches, and tears. The concrete floor was cracked and covered with a layer of dirt and grime. Puddles of mud were scattered about, and the walls of the factory were covered with graffiti and soot.
