Manual of Style
The Manual of Style is a style guide for all Taylorverse Wiki articles. It establishes the house style, helping editors produce articles with consistent, clear, and precise language, layout, and formatting. The goal is to create an encyclopedia that is easier and more intuitive to use.

Naming Articles
Articles should be given the most accurate in-universe name possible, even if an alternative name is more commonly used. If a name is not provided in canon material, it can be chosen, with an eye toward understandability.
The following points are critical to formatting article titles:
Title capitalization: The first letter of every word in a title must be capitalized, except for articles (a, an, the), coordinating conjunctions, prepositions and the "to" in an infinitive.
Singular form: Article names should be singular as a general rule; however, some exceptions are accepted, such as members of a particular species ("Dogs"), groups ("Defenders of Eshkor"), grouped items ("Knives"), or lists.
Full names without ranks or titles: Articles about characters should avoid the title or rank, (e.g. "Javier Ramirez," not "Dr. Javier Ramirez").
Avoid definite or indefinite articles: The definite article (the) and indefinite articles (a/an) should be avoided in article titles except if they are used as the official title (e.g. "The Authorities).
Article Formatting
Headings
Main headings should be styled using the "Heading 3" style, followed by a divider and then paragraph text or a subheading. Main headings should be preceded by a "Heading 3" paragraph break, not a regular style paragraph break.
Subheadings should use the "Heading 4" style. Subheadings should be preceded by a reguar style paragraph break, and are not followed by a paragraph break or divider.
Body
The brief description at the beginning of an article should always contain the page's title or subject in bold. Articles (a, an, the) should not be bolded, even if included in the title (e.g. "The Authorities is the totalitarian regime..."). If a word in the title is not a proper noun, do not capitalize it in the article body (e.g. "Ramez Dhanial's car is..."). Events should be followed by their dates in parenthesis (e.g. "The Second American Civil War (2084–2089)") in the introductory paragraph. Article subjects should be followed, if applicable, by common secondary names in bold (e.g. "Kyrus Varden, also known as the Sovereign Supreme, is...").
Paragraphs should be separated by a blank line break.
Particularly long articles should have a Contents section at the top. "Contents" should use the subheading style, and numbered text should link to the appropriate sections. Subsections are indented and numbered with letters (e.g. "c. Badges").
Quotes
Quotes should by styled as follows:
"Quote from a character."
– Character to Character, in Book Title
Quotes should be italicized, as should titles. If the quote is of dialogue, it should be placed within quotation marks. If it is prose, no quotation marks should be used. Everything mentioned in the quote itself and in the source should be linked to the appropriate article. The source should be offset by an en dash (–).
Links
Whenever possible, add links. Links should not be underlined, and not open in another tab.
Article Writing Conventions
Taylorverse Wiki articles should follow standard American English rules and conventions. The following grammatical conventions are to be followed consistently in all articles:
Oxford comma (e.g. "soldiers, executioners, and technicians")
Placing of punctuation within quotes (e.g. "the song 'Silver Sunrise,' the debut of the band Indigo Ocean...")
Use em dashes with no spaces (e.g. "mooncrystals—first introduced in Ice Lords—glow turquoise")
The brief description at the beginning of an article should be in present tense from an in-universe perspective. The rest of an article should be written in past tense from an in-universe perspective. The Behind the Scenes and Trivia sections of an article should be written in past tense from a real world perspective, with any applicable date starting a line (e.g. "On November 23, 2020, the cover was redesigned").
Article Structure
Articles should follow the appropriate structure; different kinds of articles have different structures.
