Louise Miller is a waitress at the coffee shop Caffeine Corner in Manhattan.

Before [Cameron] could finish his sentence, he was cut off by a worker who had walked over to our table. “You have to buy something to sit down, sir,” she told me. Her name tag read Louise.

“Oh, really?” I said, pretending I had no idea. I didn’t want to have to spend money, just escape Aunt Rebecca and Joy.

“It’s a rule. Do you want me to have to report you to the manager?” the worker, Louise, asked with contempt. “Now what would you like?”

“Uh, I actually don’t have any money,” I replied.

“Sorry, kiddo,” Louise said in a voice that wasn’t so sorry, “buy something or leave.”
