Allyssa Blake, a researcher from North Africa, is a respected member of the Antarctic Exploration Association (AEA). She is tall, dark-skinned, and dedicated to her work. She led a five-person expedition to Antarctica to study the effect of climate change on the continent’s weather and geography.
"I’m not sure what would have happened to us if we’d been left here much longer."
The team (Allyssa, David Eric, Kate Sparrow, Mack Armstrong, and John Rickman) landed on Friday, October 16, 2015. 12 minutes past noon on Saturday, the AEA lost contact with them, and a Coast Guard rescue team was assembled shortly thereafter.
